Privacy Policy
Fo Qimen ("we", "us") operates the websites at qimen.one and related hosts such as foqimen.one (the "Service"). The Service is a knowledge portal for Fo Qimen teachings, articles, and related media. Some material is public; other material is available only to admitted members after sign-in.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what is needed to run sign-in, admission, and the Service:
- Account identity from your sign-in provider. When you sign in with Google or Microsoft, we receive your email address and basic profile details the provider shares for authentication (such as name and profile picture, if available).
- Admission and role data. We store your email, admission status, role (for example member or admin), and related registration details (such as a class key used to enroll) so we can decide whether you may access protected content.
- Session and security cookies. After sign-in we set cookies or similar tokens so you stay signed in and so we can protect private pages.
- Technical and usage data. Our hosting and security providers (including Cloudflare) may process standard request logs and optional web analytics such as page views, approximate location derived from IP, device/browser type, and performance metrics.
We do not ask for payment card details on this Service.
2. How we use information
- Authenticate you and keep your session secure
- Admit enrolled members to protected Fo Qimen content and media
- Operate admin tools used to manage allowlists and enrollment
- Maintain, secure, and improve the Service
- Contact you about account or access issues when needed
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.
3. How sign-in works
Sign-in is handled through our authentication service together with Google and/or Microsoft as identity providers. Those providers process your credentials under their own privacy policies. We use the identity they return so we can match your email to our admission records.
4. Sharing
We share personal information only with processors that help us run the Service, for example:
- Cloudflare (hosting, security, media delivery, optional analytics)
- Our authentication service provider
- Google and/or Microsoft (sign-in)
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the Service, our users, or our rights.
5. Retention
We keep account and admission records for as long as you remain enrolled or as needed to operate the Service and meet security or legal duties. Session cookies expire according to their configured lifetime or when you sign out.
6. Your choices
- You may stop using the Service and sign out at any time.
- You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your admission record by contacting us at the email below.
- You can also revoke the Service's access to your Google or Microsoft account from that provider's account settings.
7. Children
The Service is intended for adults and students enrolled in related courses. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. International processing
Our providers may process data in different countries. By using the Service you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed outside your own country.
9. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
